Final project

performance Video

In this performance video you will see my close friend Javi trying to kiss people. I filmed this video with Micheal Calandra, we decided that we wanted to show people that there are many different ways of kissing and that some cultures are very out going with it. Javi for example is Latino, Latino's like to kiss each other and hug each other but it's not sexual at all. Some people also misunderstand the meaning behind a friendly kiss and can either reject it or take it too far. I believe Javi helped many people understand the importance of a friendly kiss. He also helped show us that its only awkward if you make it awkward. if the video does not work just click the link. https://youtu.be/9ghYgyNT7LQ

xerox

I would have to say that this project was pretty time consuming. I printed out 40 hands and cut all the individual fingers out. I then decided to cover a wine glass with the fingers giving the viewer the illusion of a wine glass made fully from fingers, one could also see the wine to be the fingers. I then decided to put one hand under the cup to make it look like a cloth for the wine glass. I also put another hand on the other side making it look like someone is sitting there but all you can see are his/her hands. This piece lets the viewer be creative and imagine what they want to see, not what I want them to see.

flip book

This video is probably one of the coolest videos I have ever made. I decided that instead of doing a basic flip book, why not turn it into a rotoscope. I found this project to be fascinating because all you really have to do is record a video on a tripod, put it into photo shop and trace over every single frame. Yes it seems like a process and trust me it is but once you finish something that takes you a long time to do, you feel amazing about it and thats how I feel about this flip book project. I am happy with and proud with the work I put forward.

Assignment 1

My name is Gus Krause, I am freshman and a film major at the University of Tampa. I have always been surrounded by art through school and through family. I am really excited for this class even though I don't really know anything about art and technology. I hope that by the end of this semester I will feel 100% better about art and technology and that I will be able to use the skills I gained from this class later on in my future.
